Scholastic Writing Awards

 

Now accepting registrations until Thursday, February 16!

The Minnesota Writing Project is a proud affiliate partner with the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. As the Minnesota Region host of the Writing Awards, we coordinate the regional Writing Awards for the entire state of Minnesota.

Who can participate in the Writing Awards?

Teens in grades 7–12 (ages 13 and up) apply in 11 categories of writing. There is a fee for each submission, but Fee Waivers that cover the entire submission cost are available online during the submission process.

How do students register?

What else do I need to know?

There are also cool Scholarships and Special Achievement Awards available including:

• New York Life Award for works that explore grief and loss 
• Portfolio Scholarships for graduating seniors who submit portfolios

Don't wait until the last minute to register!

Because of the time it takes to judge the work, we can't guarantee work that is received after the deadline will be accepted, even if it was a technical error. Contact us at mwp@umn.edu with questions.
