Teachers

A'nia-Nicole Rae

A’nia-Nicole Rae is an English teacher at Brooklyn Center Middle School. She is an alumni of the University of Minnesota and Minneapolis public schools. She enjoys spontaneous travel adventures, cooking, and community work and activism.

 

Erin Griffin

Erin Griffin (she/her/hers) is a middle school Language Arts teacher at Upper Mississippi Academy in Saint Paul. Erin enjoys painting, thunderstorms, petting dogs, and the crisp smell of a new book. She loves trying new things and learning from students.

 

 

Jacob Juliar

Jacob Juliar (he/him/his) is a bilingual middle-school teacher who spent a decade living in Seoul. He spends his days reading Calvin and Hobbes anthologies to his two small children and listening to BTS.

Jess Emery

Jess Emery is a teacher at Two Rivers High School in Mendota Heights. She teaches writing to English Language Learners, and co-teaches across content areas with other teachers at her school. She is passionate about her students, running, cooking, reading, and spending time with the people she loves.

Jonathan Nelson

Jonathan Nelson (he/him/his) is a 7th grade Language Arts teacher at Minnetonka Middle School West. In addition to helping students learn, he also loves reading, writing about what he’s reading, cooking, coffee, disc golf, and going on excessively long walks with a good podcast.

 

 

Kara Marlin

Kara Marlin (they/them) teaches Reading and Writing to 6th graders in Saint Paul. They love reading and learning about politics, as well as getting involved with social justice. They also love to cuddle their two cats (Ziggy and Pluto), drink coffee, and play video games.
