Matt Luskey

photo of Matt Luskey I am honored to be part of the Center for Writing and the Writing Across the Curriculum team. Through the Writing-Enriched Curriculum and Teaching with Writing programs, I collaborate closely with faculty, affiliates, graduate teaching assistants, and departments across the university on writing-related matters, including writing assignment design and assessment, utilizing effective practices in teaching and responding to writing, and assisting with the achievement of unit writing plans. I enjoy the ongoing and dialogical nature of this work, which takes many forms — individual consultations, workshops, panels, reading circles, and writing retreats.

My work draws on experiences in the classroom, in writing program administration, and in professional development communities. I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses in literature, composition, film and media aesthetics, Liberal Studies, and Education, served as Assistant Director of Composition at the University of Oregon, where I earned my PhD, and directed National Writing Project sites at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Washington. Most recently, I served as the Writing Instruction Specialist in the Center for Teaching, Learning & Technology at California Polytechnic State University, where I also taught courses in writing and rhetoric.
