students in classCourses

There are a wide variety of graduate courses suitable for fulfilling the requirements of the Literacy and Rhetorical Studies (LRS) minor. As you select your courses in OneStop, we encourage you to explore the broad offerings of our LRS Minor faculty, courses taken by LRS minor alumni, and others offered at the University at large. The right course—methodologically, theoretically, conceptually, or historically—may be tucked into a department that you have not previously encountered or considered.

You are encouraged to approach LRS faculty to set up independent studies related to your studies as well. In past terms, students have found courses in these programs’ offerings:

ADED—Adult Education
ALL—Asian Languages and Literatures
AMST—American Studies
ANTH—Anthropology
ARTS—Art
CI—Curriculum and Instruction
COMM—Communication Studies
CSCL—Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature
ENGL—English: Literature
ENGW—English: Creative Writing
GWSS—Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies
HIST—History
JOUR—Journalism
LGTT—Language, Teaching and Technology
LING—Linguistics
PHIL—Philosophy
SLHS—Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences
SLS—Second Language Studies

To ensure a course you are interested in or have taken will be approved for the LRS minor, please consult with Kirsten Jamsen (kjamsen@umn.edu).
