Common grading criteria that are used across the disciplines include attention to assignment, appropriate address of audience, and consistent focus on purpose. Criteria common to math assignments include clear representation of sequential reasoning, smooth integration of numeric and alphabetic phrases, mathematical accuracy, and adequately developed justification for solutions.
