Writing-Intensive Course Proposals

developing & submitting a proposal

  1. Secure a form sent out by the Council on Liberal Education. For a copy of the form, contact Laurel Carroll.
  2. Send a proposal to Laurel Carroll, 160 Morrill Hall, l-carr@umn.edu. Include your name and the name of the course, along with a sample assignment for a paper that students will revise and resubmit.
  3. A subcommittee of CLE will review your proposal and send you word of its approval if it meets the basic guidelines.
