APA documentation style: reference list
(pdf)
Each academic discipline has its own expectations for style and documentation. Often, these disciplines rely on a broad system of guidelines that are determined by professional organizations in the field. In psychology, social work, education, and other social sciences, the standard style is APA (American Psychological Association).
Because reference lists follow specific guidelines for spacing and indentations, we offer this information in pdf format only. Please click here for an example of a typical reference list.
An excellent web-based resource on APA citation is Diana Hacker’s site, Research and Documentation Online.
