web resources for doing research in history
Web resources designed specifically for scholarship can be invaluable; however, the majority of texts on the web contain inaccurate information. Although sites like Wikipedia are informative, most instructors (and readers of history scholarship) consider them unreliable. Therefore, it is wise to avoid such sites for research and writing, instead selecting only credible academic web resources such as those sponsored directly by a university, a museum, or a library.
