historiography

A historiography paper is an examination of how scholars’ interpretations of history and historical events have changed over time. A historiography paper is useful for understanding how interpretations are a product of their times. While book reviews, primary source analyses, and so on ask students to use sources to construct a narrative about what happened in the past and why it is significant, a historiography paper examines the way that historical narratives themselves have been constructed and reconstructed over time.
