writing an annotated bibliography

Like a standard bibliography, an annotated bibliography is an alphabetical list of sources in Chicago style; what sets it apart from standard bibliographies is the inclusion of comments after each bibliographic entry. The purpose of these comments is to provide a brief overview or summary of the source and, often, to assess the source’s usefulness (or lack thereof) for a particular research project.

For advice and samples, see the University of Wisconsin’s Annotated Bibliographies.
