Assignment: Create a movie trailer style radio commercial for a fairy tale or children's story. We used a digital movie camera and extracted the video in the program iMovie, added music and sound effects and converted the audio tracks to QuickTime.

Video essays: Minnesota summer festivals

Assignment: Use pre-recorded digital movie footage from Monticello's annual River Fest to write an essay or other genre inspired by some aspect of these small-town Minnesota summer traditions. Add the reading of the piece to video footage. The creativity of these examples belies the short amount of time we had for the demonstration assignment.
