M.A. & M.F.A. planning form

Masters: minimum 3 courses, 9 credits

One graduate seminar or course in each of the following three categories:


1. Literacy theory or practice, including pedagogy
2. Research methods and practices in one of the areas of the minor
3. A historical topic, e.g., history of the book, or rhetoric, or literacy

Only one of the three courses can be from the home department.

Plus a substantial paper which emerges from one of the three courses. The paper topic and length must be approved beforehand by the DGS.
