As the teaching assistant for the Teaching with Writing Program, I provide support for faculty members and TAs as they integrate writing into courses across the curriculum. My work at the Center for Writing allows me to pursue my interests in writing across the curriculum and writing pedagogy, while working to advance a cause I am quite passionate about: improving the teaching of writing in all disciplines. My own background is quite interdisciplinary, with a B.S. in biology from Montana State University and an M.A. in nonfiction writing from Johns Hopkins University. I am currently an ABD Ph.D. candidate in the History of Science and Technology Program at the University of Minnesota. When I am not writing, thinking about writing, or teaching, I enjoy running, biking, swimming, and cooking with my husband and competing in triathlons around Minnesota.
